The Renter

 Before you throw the money, check the operation first. Ask around. Normally, these jet-ski providers are affiliated with a hotel or a resort that is a good start. Speak with the concierge or front desk about the Jet Ski rental, they are more honest then you think. Word of mouth is also a good reference. Check out Trip Advisor and other online travel media to give the evaluation feedback.

Take a look

Visit the Jet Ski rental establishment to see how they do business and run their operations. Are they friendly and in uniform? Does the equipment look clean and new? Are they up to date with the correct safety equipment and instructions? This observation alone will tell you a lot! If everything looks on the up and up, go for it!

Rental Fee

Now that you feel comfortable with your choice, you will need to decide how much time do you spend on the water. You can either go for Half an hour or a full hour. Average prices for Gulf Shores and Orange beach run about $30 to $ 50 for a half hour and $80 to $95 for a full hour. These prices include taxes and fuel. Pricing does not usually include tips, which are encouraged.  An average tip can be offered at 10% to 15% of the rent.

Payment

If you are staying in a hotel or resort in Orange Beach where the Jet Ski rental is included for free with the rent, if you disagree with the service you can speak to the hotel or resort directly satisfied. Not many spots accept credit cards so be sure to bring money. If you are visiting Gulf Shores or Orange Beach from abroad, please bring American currency so that there is no exchange rate conflict.

Before getting on the water

Make sure to leavee any personal belongings such as shoes, shirts, Clock, wallet, etc. ... on shore.  Ask for lockers that you can have the key to. There is also typcially a storage compartment on the Jet Ski, where you can keep a few items that are water proof. You can also leave your things with someone you you trust, or if your stay at the hotel or resort, bring your items in the room for storage, just remember your room key!

 If you are not familiar with, or feel uncomfortable with the handling of a Jet-Ski, renters in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores are required to provide easy to understand instructions (for free).

Take a passenger

You can always bring someone for the ride. This is highly recommended. Children especially love this!

While on the water 

Ask what are the limits, while on the water. You will have landmarks or markers in the Water Framework Directive, that you must stay within. Ask how you know when it is time to return. Some tenants have either a timer on the Jet Ski, or they will come to you.
